Apples to Apples

Choose silly or clever word matches to win this popular party game.


The party game Apples to Apples consists of two decks of cards: Nouns (red apples) and Adjectives (green apples).

Each round, the judge draws a green apple card (which features an adjective like "Hairy" or "Smarmy") from the deck, then the other players each secretly choose the red apple card in hand that best matches that description and plays it face-down on the table. Cards can be chosen seriously (a logical match) or humorously (a funny or ironic match).

The judge then reveals these cards and chooses the red apple card that, in his opinion, best matches the green apple card. The player that submitted that card is awarded the green apple card and becomes the new judge for the next round.

Once a player has won a pre-determined number of green apple cards, that player wins.
